Blue Bells from Serendipity Stamps and Challenge

First of all, I apologize for the photos, it was late when I photographed them and really too dark for it to show up as pretty as these tags are. For some reason, I am really having a time with blogger and I cannot seem to get it right...I have spent way too much time trying, so I have given up and just hope you understand. Hi everyone! I am getting brave and taking on the Serendipity Challenge that is due tomorrow night at midnight. The Challenge Subject: Card for a teacher or coach. I am hoping that my "gift tags" will qualify. As I have told you all before, by sister, Annie has the gift of planting anything and everything and it always blooms or heck, survives. I am not so lucky in that area. Everything I have ever tried to plant eventually has an early demise, to put it nicely.

Well, with spring here, we have a "Farmer's Market" and Annie and I visit many times when the springtime comes. A few weeks ago we visited the Farmer's Market....and she talked me into getting some planters and impatiens (flowers) because I have so much shade in my yard, she said that the impatiens flowers would thrive in my front yard. So we went to Home Depot and got some potting soil...did you know that Miracle Grow is awesome? Anyhoo, we came home and she showed me how easy peasy planting those darling little blooms were...I must say, I felt kinda "dumb" when I saw that there was nothing to it. She gave me instructions for watering and fertilizing...and here me am...a "planter" of flowers!!! I hope they will live under my care and with her instructions.

I bought this little round box at Michael's and covered it with DP paper. I used Spellbinders Largest Circle die and made six tags that fit perfectly into this round box. I then began to work on the "Blue Bells" image from Serendipity Stamps. Isn't this just gorgeous? I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. and colored with my Copic Ciao Markers. I added tiny rhinestones to the image and used a butterfly punch on glittered gold paper to add to the image. I also sponged SU's Barely Banana around the image and then I added some lace and gold string around each tag. I covered the glued string with another butterfly on the back so it would look pretty.

Shoot, I forgot to take a pic of the tags opened up...although, they are blank inside. I hope you like my little gift to my sister...I really think she will like it! Please DO click on each photo...it shows up so much nicer than what you see here.

Try and take the time to visit Serendipity Stamps. I KNOW you will find images that you will love. I am in the process of ordering more right now, because they have a Buy 3 get one FREE deal through April 19th, I believe.

Thank you for stopping by! I am SO looking forward to the weekend...and I know you are too! Have a great one :)

Your tags are beautiful. So much talent. Yes, impatience will grow beautiful in shade. I plant them every year. The trick is to keep them watered and fertilized. Good luck.

Hey Sweetie, your tags are gorgeous, as well as your round box, just love them!!!! Your flowers will do fine in the shade and will love it. The only with with inpatiens is that they like lots and lots of water. And watch out for those pesty slugs, they'll devour impatiens in two nights. Apart from that, impatiens are very hardy and grow well. I love them!

Just beautiful, Velta! I love the colors, flowers, and lace. I'm right there with you. I think I have a brown thumb! lol If it's outside, it might have a chance to survive, but they don't last long in my house! :)

Your tags are so pretty with the lacey edges, and your sister will love them! Like you, I don't have a green thumb at all! I plant healthy plants using good soil, but either they don't like my water or don't like my voice when I talk to them, because they shrivel up and die well before their time! LOL I'll buy from the local farmers market instead :)
Keep at it thought - with your sister's help you should do fine. As for me, I'll do plastic house plants - they don't die :)

The tags and the box to hold them are just beautiful!! I'm sure your impatiens will do very well, I don't have a green thumb but have been able to grow them in shady spots, they're quite hearty!

Hi, Velta! I haven't been around to do much visiting lately, and just look what I've been missing here! I think these are just so pretty, and a lovely bluebell image. I'm in total agreement about Serendipity stamps. Very nice images. This is a wonderful gift for your sister, and how nice that you have this talent to share with your sister as she shares her gardening skills with you. You two are blessed to have each other.
