Roses

Hi all! this will be a short post. I have quite a busy day ahead of me. I made this card using navy cardstock. The burgundy ribbon came from Hobby Lobby. The roses were made with patterned paper that I had in my stash. I also used Rose Creations from Spellbinders and Foliage from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from JustRite's Birthday Kit and I cut it out with my Petite Circles Scalloped Nestabilities. To make the Roses, I used an embossing mat and embossing tools 3 mm, 4.5mm and 6mm that I purchased from A Touch of Grace Paper Boutique. I have been watching Jerri's blog and I love the way she makes her flowers. I feel like I am finally getting just the right feel for these tools and it is so much fun using them to make these flowers. The butterfly came from Martha Stewart and I added pearls and spacers to the middle of the flowers.

I wish you all a very happy weekend!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge

I cannot begin to tell you how upsetting it is when blogger does not cooperate...I started posting this over an hour ago and it still will not let me edit it to my liking. So I am leaving it alone...I hope you all understand that I hate the spaces between the paragraphs, etc...but if I try to mess with this again, I will lose the pictures and have to start all over.

Okay first of all, Hi Peeps! This is the challenge from Serendipity Stamps ~

Due – July 16th, 2011 Requirements – Send a Christmas card (or other project), made using stamps that are NOT traditionally Christmas or winter stamps. That means no snowmen, no Baby Jesus, no Christmas trees etc. But it has to be obvious that it’s a Christmas or “Winter Holiday” card. The primary stamp used on the project must be a Serendipity Stamps image.Prize – A brand new set of 45 Bruynzeel Aquarelle Pencils (watercolor pencils) – a value of $50!

Please go to Serendipity Stamps Gallery so that you can see a picture of these awesome Pencils...Ooooo how I would love to win this great prize!

Here is my take on this challenge... I used SU's Green and Red Cardstock. This image is called "Spring In Provence." I colored it using my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol...then I added Christmas Flower Soft to the edges of the door and porch. I put red rhinestones on the Flower Soft to make it look like lights. The Christmas tree is a button that I added rhinestones to (to look like lights)...and cut the back of the button off. I wanted it to look like a decoration beside the door. I added some Happy Holiday ribbon that I have had forever and a pointsettia from my stash. Please click on either picture to see a close up...Blogger gave me a hard time trying to post this...but I finally gave up and just let my paragraphs go below the pictures.

This was loads of fun...and put my mind to thinking about creativity. I could not be more pleased with how this turned out and I hope you like it as much as I do...Thanks Serendipity for the "fun" challenge!!!

Summer Card Camp 2011 - Week 2

Hi there Peeps! This is Week 2 of the Summer Card Camp fun stuff !! The colors above were to be used on our cards for this week. Oh what fun everyone is having with this Card Camp!...My goodness there were over 700 entries on week 1 and I am so excited to be a part of all of the color combos and videos and sketches, etc....I did make another card earlier this past weekend that was from "Bonus Combinations" with different colors...and I did not post it because it was for Week 1...However, I will post it later...It turned out too cute!!

For this card I used Paper Trey Ink's "Delightful Dahlia." I stamped the images in PTI's Pure Poppy and Momento's Tangelo. I then used Diamond Stickles to give it some sparkle. The DP is from my stash. I used Paper and More's White Metallic Card Stock and my Cuttlebug folder (sry, again I do not know the name). I cut out the Dahlias and then went back to the Cuttlebug folder and cut out the Dahlias again with dimensions this time to pop it up. I used Pure Poppy Swiss Dot Ribbon from PTI, spacers that I have had forever and topped the spacers with pearls. The Sentiment came from Birthday Kit from JustRite Stampers. This kit is really being used a LOT lately.

I hope you like the card...I am pleased with the results...Thank you guys for stopping by and "cheers" to a fantastic weekend!!! See you next week with my 3rd week from Summer Card Camp!
