A Wedding Gift for a Friend

Hi Guys!!! This is a set I have been working on for a while...A gift to my friend Sharon, whose daughter got married yesterday! There were 4 bridesmades and the color of blue seen here are the exact same color of the bridesmaid dresses. The bride's dress was ivory and that is why I used that color for the background.

I have made this set before, for my sister's supervisor. So you might think "I've seen this before." Sharon had a bridal luncheon and she set one card and one purse (which she put gift cards in) as part of the place setting for each brides maid.

I used Metalic Champagne Cardstock and Text Paper from Paper and More cutting with the Nestabilities and embossing with CB's embossing folder, sry I don't know the name of it. The DP came from Hobby Lobby as did the ribbon. I also used Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut out the Circles used on top of the purses and velcro for the closure. The flowers were cut from SU's Brilliant Blue DP (probably retired) and I used Paper Trey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II #1 Collection Dies to cut the flowers. I then used Smooch Spritz called "Sea Breeze" that was a gift from my good cyber buddy Beate Johns on my flowers.

I used a brad to put each flower in place and then added a pearl to the middle. On the card you can see that I added some pearls to the top left with a butterfly using MS butterfly punch and some tiny pearls on the butterfly.

I made the bride's card and purse differently since she was the guest of honor. I used 100% White Silk Ribbon, which I purchased from Sharon Johnson's Ribbon Store. Then punched the flowers and the butterfly using glittered white cardstock from Hobby Lobby.

I had so much fun making these for my friend and apparently it was a big hit at the luncheon.

The wedding last night was fabulous with some of the best food and music and the Bride was just lovely in her gorgeous lacy ivory dress!

I was in quite a rush to get these to Sharon before the luncheon and the photos have a tint of yellow...I don't know where that came from...except I did take these pics early in the morning when there was not much light.

Today after 23 days of not having ANY rain...we finally have gotten a little "spit" of rain. It was nice because I did spend some of my day making more wedding cards for an upcoming wedding in October. After that, I am planning on making one of my best friends a Birthday card. My isn't it wonderful to have such an outlet...It is just plain "therapy" for me!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my little project as much as I enjoyed making them. Have a wonderful week and stay safe!

Note: I was inspired by Julia at Create With Me when it came to making this darling little purse!

These projects are magnificent!!! I love that cobalt blue ribbon against the ivory card stock! Everything is gorgeous girlie! As for the Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear detail embossing powder - I can't wait until you try it! I've never owned another black ink pad since I found the Versafine, and Michelle Rodgers (of Stampersdream.com) is the one who taught me that fabulous combo in the first place! Have fun with it!!
