Crafty Secrets Card

Hi all ~ I cannot believe that next week is Christmas!!! Although it is really cold here and we have had awful weather with the rain constantly coming down for the last two weeks. Now we are in the 30's, which for Bama is cold. I cannot imagine living up north where it is truly cold. My hat's off to those up north.
I believe I have finished with my Christmas shopping. Although I still have to go to the grocery store to get yummers for Christmas day. I will be cooking on the 24th...something that I always have fun doing. I love the holidays! Especially the family part! When we all get together and open presents and sing carols (in odd voices) and then it's time to eat the wonderful dishes we have all contributed to making...yes, everyone this year is doing their part and bringing something yummy to eat. It used to be that my sister and I did all of the cooking...well, we have added some elves...so to speak...our DD's...LOL!

This card is very vintage. One of my favorites. The Santa came from Crafty Secrets Journal that I bought from Sharon at No Time To Stamp. The cardstock is SU's Real Red. I used Flourishes Finishing Touches little slide that looks like a belt buckle...the ribbon also came from Flourishes. I used Glitter Dots too. Not really much to this because the image was easy peasy.

I have another post before Christmas and I hope I can get it in on time. Have a great weekend all!

A Bird's Song from Artful Inkables

Hello all! I guess everyone has had quite a chilly weekend. My sister (Annie) and I went shopping yesterday....from dawn until dusk. It was in the 40's and windy and raining the entire day. We started out at Cracker Barrel for breakfast....mmmm...that was a great start for the day...they had the fireplace going and it was all warm and cozy...Then we hit the stores...I am just about finished with my Christmas shopping...in fact I bought more than I should have, so I am saving some of it for next year's Birthdays. At any rate, we finished shopping when we could not walk anymore...LOL...I am blessed to have such a wonderful sister!!!

On to the card. I used SU's Real Red cardstock and then patterned paper from Hobby Lobby. I glued the string of pearls diagonally. Used my Nesties for the image and the sentiment. The Holly buttons from Hobby Lobby, MS branch punch and a pearl to tie it all together. I used Memento London Fog for the sponging and my Copic Ciao Markers for coloring the image. I am really excited that I am learning to sponge more. I did it on the last post and I think I am getting the hang of it.

I do hope you like this card. I am pleased. Have a great week and thank you for your comments!!

Annie's Birthday

Happy Birthday Annie...I really love what I did with these....the card and the box...my sister, Annie loved it...I was thrilled. The photos are bassackwards ...Annie, if you see this...I love you dearly!
Hi to all...Today is my sister, Annie's Birthday! When she was little, she wanted to be like Annie Oakley, who had a series on television ( I am SO telling my age)...I am positive that none of my commenters knows where or who this is...but, nonetheless...She was probably 6 years old and her "real" name is Ellen...She went to my mom and after watching the television show "Annie Oakley" she said that she did not want to be called Ellen...but Annie...and so it began...Ellen became Annie...LOL...
I made this card and 3-D carton, which has 2 oil sented vials from Bath and Body Works (Evergreen and Winter) for her birthday...She was sooo surprised and loved it all. I hope you all love it too...
The image is, of course from Sara Kay. I just love everything Sara Kay...
oops...gotta run...sorry...I wish you all the best of weekends!!!

Flourishes Challenge FTTC42 and FTTC43

I forgot to post last weeks Flourishes Challenge FTTC42...and here it is. I posted it on SCS and forgot to post it here. I used a Flourished Christmas Reindeer image and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I colored him with Encore Gold Ink and a sponge. I used gold beads on the antlers and his nose. SU's Chunky White Glitter for the snow, CuttleBug's Snow Emossing Folder on White Shimmery Paper and Gold Paper and Sparkle White from my stash. The Snowflakes are from Spellbinders Snowflake Dies. Also MS Snowflake Border Punch, Blue Swarovski Crystals on the snowflake and his ey, Nesties Rectangle Die under the Noel! Click to see this pic better.

Hi to all! I really hope that you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! Mine was extremely special in so many ways. I am blessed with the most wonderful family and friends. You know, there are not a lot of people that can say those words and for it to be "really" true! ...For me it is too true!
We had a fabulous weekend and it is not over yet. My sister, long-time friend and I are going to see the movie "New Moon" tomorrow. I do not know if many of you have read the Twighlight Series...but the three of us are big time fans. So I still have that to look forward to. Also went shopping today at Michael's and Hobby Lobby...need I say more??? Oh my word did I ever get some 'sweet' deals...spent too much, but hey...it's for me!!

This card I am posting is for the Flourishes FTTC43 Challenge. It is a simple card, easy peasy to make...using the Spellbinders Poinsettia Dies, Sheer Red Ribbon from Flourishes, SSU's Real Red Cardstock, Red Velvet Paper and Candy Cane Striped Paper from Hobby Lobby, and Rhinestones....see, easy as pie .

Thanks guys for stopping by...be safe coming home from the holidays and I really hope you enjoy my little creation!

Happy Thanksgiving Week & La La Land's Thankful Challenge

I am posting this card for the La La Land's Thankful Challenge! They have blog candy, which you can see on my side bar! Yummers!!
This is a card that I made for a very special friend!! The stamp came from the dollar bin at Michael's and I colored it with my Copic Ciao markers. The card stock is SU's Really Rust. I just love the DP underneath with the scarecrows and pumpkins. I believe I got this DP and the leaf DP from Hobby Lobby last year. I used the Nestabilities Deckled Edge Dies. The sentiment is from Flourishes. I put MS branches punch leaves on the corners and weighed them down with Pebbles. The ribbon is May Arts Rust that I bought from Artful Inkables. And of course I used dimensionals to add depth. Again I used my newest sponging (sp?) technique around the images. I am really excited that the sponging is taking so well, and need to move on to other techniques...LOL. This photograph stinks...but if you click on it...maybe it will look better. IRL it is just one of my favorites.
I do not know if I will have time to post again this week as my work requires this last week of the month to really get it (work) done. Therefore, I wish all of you the Very Best Thanksgiving!!!

Many Thanks to all of you who have been so faithful in following my blog! Your comments have made me laugh and smile! Please be safe this weekend and stay well, as I am not in the "mood" for any unhappy news!!

Hugs to you all!!!

Think Ink Challenge from Artful Inkables

When I first saw this new release I just knew I HAD to have it!!! These little guys are so adorable they just make you Christmas "HAPPY!" The challenge for Think Ink Tuesday at Artful Inkables is to make a tag...any kind of tag. Well these little guys stood up for the challenge and screamed "me, me, me!" So as not to disappoint, I gathered them together and chose these images. They were happy with glee knowing that not only would they appear on my blog, but also on SCS. I love it when images come from Kristin...she is such a talent and she can go from adorable to elegant to "Twilight" in no time.

I first cut white cardstock in a square and glued the Crafty Secrets Christmas Journal bottoms to the square. Then I used my Square Nestabilities to cut out the square, stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Copic Ciao Markers and OMS. I added Liquid Pearls for the snowflakes and the top of otter's hat, a little sparkle from Stickles, MS branch punch with sparkle paper (greatest ever invention), and Glitter Dots and Gold Ribbon. Wha..la!!!

Now I feel bad about my scarecrow below, because he was not posted long enough for any comments...but the challenge ends at midnight for Think Ink Tuesday and I wanted to make sure I made it.

I hope these little guys put a smile on your face when you see them. Thank you for comments...Oh by the way. Kristin has 4 new releases and you can find them at Artful Inkables so be sure and stop by so you can see what a variety she has forthcoming! Please DO click on the picture to get a better view!!!

High Hopes Scarecrow

Happy Sunday!!! I am especially happy because I have the whole day to myself...to do what ever I want. And, you know what I want to do...create...stamp...color!!! I have a lot of new tools that I have gotten over the past two weeks and I very much want to pull them out and get to work! Just so you know...I am gonna have a very fun day today!
Although I have been working 6 days a week lately, it has taken a toll on my house keeping...so I know I will have to get some of that done, but with a whole day to myself...heck, I can do it!
I bought this stamp from High Hopes last year and never got around to coloring him. I just adore this scarecrow as he just says Thanksgiving and Fall. I stamped him with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with my Copics. I used some rust cardstock that I bought from Flourishes a while back. I found the DP from Hobby Lobby and thought it perfect for this fall card. The Spellbinders Die was used and I just cut a rectangle for the image. I sponged all around this little guy with SU's So Saffron. My first ever sponging...I have to admit Beate at Fresh and Fun has been my inspiration for sponging...and now I am hooked. I have more sponging to show in the future...I am so excited she inspired me to move on to another technique. Back to the card...I found this beautiful ribbon at Hobby Lobby and used a Pumpkin Patch Button Sign to put by his feet...and an autum sparkly leaf that was also a button. I just clipped off the back of both buttons and glued them where I wanted them.
I really like how this turned out and hope you do to. Wishing you all the very best week coming up and Stay Healthy. Thank you for looking!!

Think INK Challenge

Hey Guys! I am ready for the Think INK Challenge over at Artful Inkables. We are supposed to make something we have never made before...a 3-D item or a technique that we have never done before. This is my very first "box ornament" and I used Artful Inkables "Paper Snowflakes" stamps on both the card and the box. This set is so versatile that you can really use it on any Christmas card with any other image.

I made my little box ornament from looking at another bigger box. I used four squares of ivory cardstock and silver embossed the images with Versamark Ink and Fine Silver Embossing Powder. I put them on all four sides of the box and then used my Spellbinders Snowflakes to add to the ribbon on top of the box. The card was made with ivory cardstock and DP from Hobby Lobby. I had some silver glitter paper and used my circle Nestabilities for the larger image. The ribbon actually came from a birthday present that I received last year...I collect and save tooooo much...LOL!

Do Click on the picture so you can see the details...I am out the door now to get to work...Here's wishing you all a very safe and happy weekend!! Thanks for your visit!

Timeless Tuesday Flourishes

Hey Everybody! This is a credit card holder that I made for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes. For the challenge you must use punches or borders of any kind. My cardstock came from Michael's and I used my Favorite Christmas Set from Flourishes called A Flourished Christmas! I have used and used this stamp over and over and it still stamps like new. I heat embossed the image with silver embossing powder and put rhinestones around the tree. I used my MS punch for the borders on the sides and Glitter Yarn for the handles. What can I say...Easy Peasy!! This pic leaves much to be desired, but if you click on it you can see the deets better.

Hope you all had a great Halloween...I certainly did! Thank you all for your wonderfully sweet comments!

Happy Halloween From Crafty Secrets

These are made with Crafty Secrets Journal Notes. I bought them from Sharon Johnson at her blog No Time To Stamp. This was very simple and easy. All I did was to take the page I wanted and glued it to a sparkly sheet from Hobby Lobby (two orange and one purple), add a little jack-o-lantern or two. I also added some stickles and moon shape and stars from a punch I have had forever. I laminated them with my Your Story Laminator/Book Binder and added an eyelet to the top. Then I added my tassel...Me thinks they are bookmarks....Done...Wha...La!

I wanted to get this posted before Halloween, because I am going to be quite busy this weekend and I don't know that I will be able to get back here in time. I also bought from Sharon the Christmas Journal Notes and I have a few ideas up my sleeve about what I plan on doing with them.

Be sure to "click" on the picture to get a better view. As always IRL they look so much better.

I wish you all a Very Happy Halloween...Be Safe and Take Care!!

Halloween Hauntings

Hello all! I am excited to share with you one of my very favorite stamps...It is from Artful Inkables and the set is called Halloween Hauntings. I love this image and I think it is just the thing for Halloween! You can click on it to get the deets. This card sold in my office in less than a minute. I will try to give the details, but since it is gone, I may not be very acurate (sp?). The papers came from Michael's. I used Versamark ink and Black Embossing Powder from SU. Heated the image of the house, the ghost and the moon with bats. I used Pumpkin Pie from SU. Square Nesties and orange stickles for the windows and moon. You can bet that I will be using this stamp next year. It is the best image for Halloween. Do click on this...I have got to take photo lessons...This is so much more IRL~ One of these days....right?

Wishing you all the very best of this next week. Thanks for stopping to view!!!

Halloween Hauntings

Both of these cards were made using images from Artful Inkables Halloween Hauntings. On the first one, I used SU's Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and Gable Green Cardstock. I cut the papers using Spellbinders Dies (I don't always remember the number...this is one of those times). I also used Spellbinders Tag Die. I used Versamark Color Black and Black Embossing Powder from SU. I then heat embossed the image and the sentiment. Found some spider stickers in my stash and added a glitter leaf to the tag.

On my second Card, I used SU's Elegant Eggplant Cardstock and Pumpkin Pie using the Spellbinders Blossoms Dies and Spellbinders Circle Dies. I also used Spellbinders Deckled Edge die for the sentiment. I stamped the images using Momento Tuxedo Black and colored the images with my Copic Spica Markers. Ribbon from Stash and Glitter Dotts and rhinestones in the skulls of the gravestones...but you really cannot see them in these pictures unless you click on it! Great fun these images...and I have another from Artful Inkables coming up that is a favorite of mine and when first seen at work, it was sold!

You know, I should be cleaning house right now...but I sometimes just need a day to myself and so I have been lazy today...reading a bit, looking at magazines I haven't looked at...playing with my card stuff. I guess I need to at least get a couple of rooms cleaned today. So, I will leave and do what I need to do, cause if I do not, then I will be mad at myself tomorrow!

Thank you for your visit and I hope your week is a great one!

I posted both of these cards on Splitcoast so you can see the details if you go there. Both cards are really self explanatory (sp?). All you have to do is add some sparkle to your card. This "Peace" set is one of my all time favorites from Flourishes. I have used these images over and over again and I have never gotten tired of looking at it...It is just an elegant "Flourish!"

JustRite Thinking of You

Good Sunday Morning! The weather is finally looking like fall...It began around the first of October and then...bam...hot weather came back. Anyhoo, it is here again and I am lovin it!

I am posting this card that I made for a friend, whose son has a girlfriend who has been going through massive medical issues. She has Non-Hodgkins Disease. I ask all of you to pray for this sweet young lady in the hopes that it will make her future easier and more comfortable.

I used SU's Bashful Blue and some DP that I bought from Hobby Lobby. The ribbon and trim came from my stash (meaning that I have had for a long time and cannot remember where I got it). I used Nestabilities Oval Dies for the background of the sentiment and Silver Embossing Powder, which I heat embossed. Very simple and it did not take long to make. I really love this Thinking of You set as it can be used for a variety of occasions. Please click on the pictures so you can see the detail.

Next I will post some cards I have made using Artful Inkables New Halloween Images...I just adore them!

Crafty Secrets Halloween Cotton Scraps

Happy Card Making Day ~ I think it was yesterday...but to me, everyday is Happy Card Making Day!
Good Morning Everyone! The weather here is just beautiful, it's fall and it is cool outside. This is my favorite time of year. I have all of my Halloween candles lit and the house just smells like Autumn. Today I am cleaning house and even though I am not in the mood (whoever is?) I will be very happy tonight when the deed is done.
This card is one of my favorites and I am quite sure you will all like this one. I used SU's Gable Green cardstock. The Halloween DP is from Hobby Lobby. I used SU's Pumpkin Pie and cut it with my pinking (sp?) scissors. Then I cut out the Jack-O-Lantern from Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps with the pinking scissors. Glued the Cotton Scrap to the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and popped it up with dimensionals. I used glitter dots and ribbon that I have had forever. The little pumpkin button was a real button that I used cutting off the back gluing it to the corner at the bottom. I love that pumpkin...besides the Crafty Secrets image, that's my favorite part of the card.
Hope you enjoy! I wish all of you could have such beautiful weather. Thank you for your comments, I appreciate every single one. Wishing you a great week ahead!

Stay Cool from Artful Inables

Hi everybody! I hope you have all had a great week...It has been raining here for it seems like 3 weeks and we are all ready to have a little sunshine. The weather guy says that this coming week will be like "FALL" and I am so thankful for that. This is my favorite time of year...I just love swinging on my wicker swing on the patio and reading a good book with all of the windows down so the smells and breeze can just take over. My sister and I have a favorite candle scent for this time of year and it is called "Mulled Cider." I have the candles going at night time, which makes it all just perfect for the autumn season.

Anyhoo, on to this next card, which is from Artful Inkables, one of my very favorite places to shop. It is called "Stay Cool." There is another image that comes with this stamp so run on over to Kristin's so you can see what that image is. I am really looking forward to inking that one up now that winter is coming into the picture. For this card I used white cardstock and Basic Grey's Two Scoops DP. I used Momento Tuxedo Black to stamp the image and colored him with my Copics. I stamped him on Spellbinders Labels 4 (I think) and used watercolor paper that I purchased at Flourishes. This is probably the best watercolor paper that I have used. I also used SU's Blue Bayou for the ribbon. I though it matched perfectly. The rhinestones and spacers came from stash along with that little star that the penquin is looking at. I also used one of my favorite new embellishments from Flower Soft called Polar White. Now that is going to be used for a lot of my Christmas Cards. Oops, I almost forgot...the Labels from Spellbinders where I stamped Stay Cool.
Thanks ever so much for stopping by! I hope you like this little fella. Have a wonderful week ahead and stay safe!!

I Ruff You !

Good Sunday to everyone! Sorry I have not posted in so long. I have had so much going on in my life that I am having a problem keeping up! I have my cards that I have been making to post, but I just have not had to time to get on and post them. Kinda hard to find the time when you are working 6 days a week, which is what I have been doing for the last few months. Hey, it's okay, I am not complaining!! I am so blessed to have a great job, when there are so many out there that cannot even find a job.

On to the card...This one I made for someone very special! The theme at the party was puppies and/or doggies. When I found this paper and ribbon at Hobby Lobby...I just knew what I would do with it...then I found the sticker Bone and even though I had to make a few changes with the sticker, it really turned out how I wanted it to look. All of the parents at the party just loved it. Really there is not much else going on with this card other than I used Spellbinders Long Deckled Dies. Anyhoo, it just made me smile and I am quite certain it will be going into a scrapbook soon.

Thanks for taking the time to visit with me and for all of your lovely comments!

Friends

What fun this card was to make!!! I made it for a friend, Julie. When I say a friend, I mean a friend for over 20 years. We used to work together and many years ago, she retired. However, we still keep in touch and go to lunch whenever we get the chance. Julie is one of those friends who is "right" there for you when you are in need. I am very blessed with my circle of friends !

On to the card, I have so many Cuttlebug Folders and I am ashamed to say, they have sat in the drawer for the most part. Mainly, because there is always something new coming out and of course I have to have that also. So I pulled out this set of 4 folders and decided to put it to use. The paper came from Basic Grey's Two Scoops, which I bought at Joan's Gardens. The ribbon came from Flourishes. That hat pin came from the Pretties Kit from SU. The 'sparklies' are Swarovski Crystals and the vellum butterfly is from MS. The sentiment is computer generated.

I really like how this one turned out and can just think of the possibilities that those CB folders can be used as. I took this photo on my patio, because the details turned out better than the ones that I took in my tent.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. Stay safe !

Feel of Fall Challenge from Flourishes

Happy Labor Day!!! It is September and it is time for the Fall!!! I love this time of the year. It is my all time favorite, as here in Alabama the weather during this time is just beautiful. The smells in the air, the colors of the leaves, just everything about this time of year makes me smile.

This card I made with the Feel of Fall Challenge from Flourishes in mind. I used SU's Creamy Caramel CS and on top of that Classic Paper Designs from Crafty Secrets, which I bought from Joan's Garden. I then used a MS punch and SU's Really Rust. On top of that I used some leaf paper that I bought from Hobby Lobby (very Autumny). I used my Nestabilities Rectangle Die and stamped the flower from Flourishes Thank You Set. I colored with my Copic Markers and then had the idea that I would love some shimmer around the flower. I used my VersaMark stamp pad and some Eclipse Masking Tape, which I got from Flourishes. I mased the flower and then just put my stamp pad on top of the image. I put some Ranger Antique Gold Embossing Powder on that and tapped off the excess. I heat embossed the powder and it really looks great IRL. The ribbon and bow came from Autumn Harvest at Hobby Lobby and I found some glittered leaf brads there also and put one on the middle of the bow. I stamped Thank You from Flourishes at the bottom right.

Please click on the picture so you can see the shimmer and the small rhinestone below the Thank You. LOL...I put that rhinestone there because my Momento Tuxedo Black kinda left a dot where I did not want it.

If you want to see more from this challenge...I am posting on SCS with FLLCSEPT. Just go to the Flourishes Newsletter and you can see some beautiful images using this same design.

I wish you all the best of the week ahead and thanks again for stopping by!
