My first attempt at sponging the background

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have posted. Mainly because I have had a lot of family obligations going on. Cannot leave out my work duties either. At any rate, I have had to step down from 2 of my Design Teams, My Time Made Easy and Paper Makeup Stamps. This was a very hard decision to make and I hated stepping down from 2 of the best DT's ever! It was an honor that I was picked in the first place. The team was wonderful to me, but in the end it was a must do. I simply did not have the time to make my schedules. Thank you to MTME and to PMS for all that you have done for me. I will continue to use your images/papers/templates, because I love them all!!

This card is a first when it comes to my making a background using sponges and Momento Inks. I was very pleased with the outcome, especially since it was my first try at it.

The first thing I did was sponge the background on White Shimmer Cardstock from Paper and More using Memento Angel Pink, Tangelo, Summer Sky, Cantalope, and Danube Blue inks using a circular motion. I overlapped some of the inks to give a more realistic feel to the background. I then stamped Artful Inkables "A Friendly Light" image of the lighthouse on the card and colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

The sentiment came from Heartfelt Creations
Hope In The Lord PreCut Set (HCPC3311). What a wonderful verse! I cut out the sentiment using Nestabilities Labels. I added a blue bow and silver string with a key charm on the end. Then put a rhinestone on the top of the lighthouse to make it look like the light is always on. The background cardstock came from SU's Bashful Blue and some black cardstock in my stash.

I hope you like my first rendition of sponging a background. Take care, thanks for your comments and have a great week!

Paper Makeup Stamps Challenge # 10

Welcome to another Digi Makeover Challenge!

Again, I am enjoying the weather! So nice to have a cool breeze!

I will get on with my challenge take. This week’s digi makeover challenge is using “Don’t Be A Square” challenge you see here. I began by using Spellbinder’s Grand Nestabilities Labels Four with SU’s Certainly Celery cardstock. I lifted the die just a little at the top so I could make a card out of it. Then I used Paper Trey Ink’s “Green Tea Leaves Collection for the Designer Paper with a smaller Nestability. The digital word art came from Paper Makeup Stamps and I had it downloaded in seconds and printed on shimmery white cardstock from Paper and More. I used Momento’s “Lady Bug” ink to sponge around the word art. I added some Prima Flowers and Kaiser rhinestones.

Well, I do believe this fits the bill of “Don’t Be A Square.” I love the colors and the digital word art is really growing on me.

My Pretty Palette # 34

Hi all! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Today's Pretty Palette Challenge shows the colors light pink, olive and brown. This was not hard to figure out, using MTME's digital images. I used "Gingersnap’s with Sugar and Spice.” The sentiment also came from these darling digi images. I started with SU’s Pretty in Pink Cardstock and added some olive colored DP that I bought from Hobby Lobby. I used Spellbinder’s Rectangle Nesties. The gingerbread darlings were easy peasy. I just added some pink and olive colors with my Copic Markers and then added some copper and white pearls. The snowflakes came from my stash, which I have had for a while and do not remember where I got them.

Here's the detail on how the challenge works:

Paper Makeup Stamps Challenge # 9

Welcome to another Digi Makeover Challenge!

We have had the most beautiful weather here. The temperatures have ranged from the high 30’s to the high 60’s. I wish it could stay this way, but winter must come. I have spent most of my weekend with my family. Yesterday, Annie, my sister, and I went to do our usual grocery shopping and after that, we went shopping at Bed, Bath & Beyond. We then went to Shoe Station and I bought one pair of shoes and Annie bought two pairs. Then we met my DD and her beautiful family and we had lunch together. After that, Annie and I went to Southern Homes & Gardens, a favorite garden place here. I bought 3 bushes and she bought several flats of pansies. Just a fun, great day!

This week’s digi makeover challenge is using the sketch you see here. I just had to make one more Halloween card. I used the digi image called “Lief.” What a great name for this leafy fella! Colored him with my Copics and used SU’s “Pumpkin Pie” for the background and Paper Trey Ink’s “Autumn Abundance” for the background DP. I then added the Halloween ribbon that I bought from Hobby Lobby, some more “Pumpkin Pie” with a double sided ribbon and bow from my stash. I sponged around Mr. Lief using Momento’s Tangelo.

Gottta run…By the Way, Happy Halloween to all!

We would love for you to play along by uploading your digi at the Digi Makeover Challenge Blog…so here are:

Pretty Palette # 33

Here are this weeks Pretty Palette Colors. I used My Time Made Easy's "Take Time for Petal Perfection." Digital Images. I colored the images with my Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol and I used my Copic Markers too. The design papers came from Paper Trey Ink's 2008 Bitty Dot Basics. I used Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles for the flowers and added purple rhinestones to the tips and the middle. The ribbon came from my stash.

I made this adorable box from MTME's "Slip Cover Template." This template was soo easy to make and I cannot wait to use it for Christmas presents. The size of the box is 5 3/4 " tall, 43/4 " wide and 1/1/2" deep. It can hold A2 sized cards/envelopes. Great gift idea don't ya think? I put some "Midnight Path" Wall Flowers from Bath and Body Works in the box, but the ideas are endless!

I hope you like my little gift set as much as I had fun making it! Have a great week all!!!

Paper Makeup Challenge # 8

Hope all is well with everyone. I am using the Challenge # 8 to the left.

Oh what a fun image this one is. I began by using SU’s More Mustard Cardstock and added some gorgeous DP that I purchased at Hobby Lobby a while back. I added rust colored satin ribbon and the Martha Stewart Halloween Fence Punch using SU’s Chocolate Chip cardstock. I colored the bats on the fence with my stickles using Gunmetal stickles…but I don’t think you can see the shimmer (darn). I used Spellbinder’s Labels Four for this fun “Mummy” digital image. Colored him with my Copic Markers and added green rhinestones for his eyes. I even colored his fingernails with a green glitter pen. Then lastly I added some copper glitter dots.

I do hope you all have a great week ahead ! We would love for you to play along by uploading your digi at the Digi Makeover Challenge Blog…so here are:

My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette # 32

Good evening all !!

What a great time I had making this adorable creation. I used SU's "Perfect Plum" cardstock and added My Time Made Easy's "Traditional Halloween Dots" designer paper. Then I used Spellbinder's Large Deckled Rectangles using Black Glitter Paper, cause it just makes the background. The image is "The Count" from MTME and I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Rectancles. I used my Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol to color the image and sponged purple around him. I also used different colors of "stickles" just to add some glitter. The bat is a sticker and the "Open if you Dare" sentiment is ffrom MTME "A Spooky Surprise." I added Kaiser rhinestones to the bottom of the sentiment. Hope you like this little Halloween card as much as I had fun making it !!!

Sorry I do not have more time to spend here...I still have to photograph this creation ! Hope you all have a great weekend!!

In The Spotlight with Paper Makeup Stamps

Good Morning Everyone! What a great day yesterday was! I spent my morning with my sister at her house on her garden porch having breakfast that we both fixed together. We talked for a couple of hours and then we left each other to get things done at our houses. I had her over for lunch at my house, on my beautiful patio. Oh the weather has been beautiful and I kept my glass windows open so the breeze could come in. I prepared my best dish Chicken Piccata with veggies and it was so good that I just wanted to nap afterwards…but did not because I still had too much housework to do at home. A great day all in all! Thanks Annie for your company!

Today’s Challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps is shown above, “In The Spotlight.” I have used the “Dandy Wishes” digi set. The colors are just green and purple. I placed several rhinestones on the flowers and on the “spotlight Wish.” However, I do not think you can see them, but IRL it is so pretty with the bling! I used purple glitter paper for the background and Christmas Green Silk Ribbon for the bow.

I just love this image! Imagine it in any other color. I hope you all have a great week and I wish you the very best ! Thank you for stopping by!

Pretty Palette # 31

Oh what a beautiful day today! Weather wise, it could not be more perfect! I just love this weather…not only the colors outside, but the smells too! BTW, I gave my friend Lynda her Bath and Body Works goodies for her birthday this week and we went out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants “Panera Bread.” Does anyone else know of this restaurant? Their salads and soups are just fabbo! She really loved the “Elvis” card I made for her…she is a “HUGE” Elvis fan. Sorry, I forgot to photograph it so I could show it on my blog. Anyhoo, I am just happy that she enjoyed her birthday with me!

This card has the Pretty Palette color challenge shown to the left. This color scheme was much easier for me. My Time Made Easy has some new digital images for Christmas and I thought this ornament was perfect for the challenge. The image and the sentiment came from “Beautiful Baubles,” and there are more images and sentiments in this set. I used SU’s Brilliant Blue cardstock. I stamped the image on White Shimmer Cardstock from Paper and More. Then colored it in with SU’s Brilliant Blue Markers. I cut the image and the sentiment using Spellbinder’s Scalloped Ovals and added rhinestones around the ornament. The ribbon bow is ribbon that was given to me as a gift from Beate Johns. What a sweetheart that girl is!

I hope you like what you see here…This was a “Less is More” card for me…I hope you will stop by and see what the other designers have in store for you! Thanks for your visit and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Primsy Doodles Halloween Ghosts Digi Stamps

Good Afternoon Peeps!! I am so lovin this weather! Fall/Autumn is my very favorite time of year. And I love Halloween too! So, I have made some fun cards to share.

Both of these images come from Primsy Doodles Digi Designs and are they not the cutest? Okay, so I have to admit, my coloring leaves much to be desired. I used my SU markers and haven't used them in over a year, so I just did not have the feel that I do for my Copics (sry SU). It really does not matter though, because I had a blast making these cards. The papers I have had in my stash for at least two years. The ribbon also from my stash...probably Hobby Lobby. I used Spellbinder's Nestabilities Labels Two and I dunno about the other one.

If you have never tried digi stamps, you really ought to at least try it once! If you do, I will bet you will be hooked! Instant gratification! I love all of Lisa's Primsy Doodles Designs! She has these darling images for evey season, holiday, and event! Do go check out her store. I promise you will not be disappointed!!

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do! Here is wishing you all the very best of the "end of the week!"

My Pretty Palette Challenge # 30

Hi All! Today I am posting My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette # 30. This was SO much fun to make! It is called "Tricky Treat Tote" template. I cannot tell you how "easy peasy" this adorable tote was to put together! And the best part is...that I can use it again and again and again. I have already thought of ways to use it for Halloween and Christmas. This is a great gift giving idea, especially for the holidays!!!

The base is from SU's SO Saffron Card Stock. I used MTME's "Spring is Here" papers called "Pretty Polka Dot Panels." These are the perfect colors to match this Challenge. The sentiment came from MTME's Bee-Loved Sentiments digi set. I put it on Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 Labels and used SU's Certainly Celery card stock for the background. The ribbon is "Spring Moss" from Paper Trey Ink and the flowers are from Prima, which I purchased from No Time To Stamp Ribbon Store.

This is a really large template and can hold lots of goodies. It is 7 3/4" tall, 6 1/4" wide and 3" deep. I will be putting some Bath and Body Works goodies for my best friend Lynda's Birthday. Lynda and I have been best friends for over 20 years and I just love giving to her. I am sure it is because she is always giving to me in so many ways.

Paper Makeup Stamps Digi Makeover Challenge # 5

Welcome to another Digii Makeover Challenge!

These are the colors we are using for today's challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps!! I used the digital image called “Shelby Silhouette.” Isn’t she a cutie? The sentiment also came from Paper Makeup Stamps and it is called “Fairy Sentiments.” I wanted to use this sentiment because of Shelby’s little duck. They just look like best friends, don't they?

Welcome to another Digi Makeover Challenge!

The sentiment also came from Paper Makeup Stamps and it is called “Fairy Sentiments.” I wanted to use this sentiment because of Shelby’s little duck.

I used a White panel and an Aqua Panel, which were impressed with Paper Trey Ink’s Mehndi Medallion Impression Plate. In real life, the impression is really much more seen. Then I cut out Purple Cardstock using Spellbinder’s Large Deckled Rectangles. Shelby is also cut using these dies. The sentiment was placed on Spellbinder’s Labels One and I added 4 little gold pearls. The pearls above the sentiment are a shade of the sand color we were to use and then I added some light blue flowers from my stash to the left lower corner.

My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette # 29

Oh happy days! Hello all! What beautiful weather we are having here! In the 50's and I am just lovin it!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this weekend. I know that I have had a blast…although there was one little incident that embarrassed me to no end. My sister, Annie and I went to do our usual shopping on Saturday. We are blessed that we get to go together to do our weekly grocery shopping. After we had gone home and put up our groceries, we decided to go to Michael’s and see what kind of Halloween goodies they had…Well, my sis is just a nut when it comes to Halloween and she spent every bit of $65.00 on some really great Halloween goodies! Then we left Michael’s and went to my car…My key with the push button open up the door thingy would not open my car door…so, now I am in a panic…We tried for 30 minutes…until I used the actual key in the door and it still did not work…Then I noticed that the passenger side of my car was wrecked…I thought…what in the world? K…do not laugh…it was NOT my car…My car was just behind us…probably should not be telling this story, but my sister and I laughed for an hour with tears streaming down our faces…lucky us, that the person that owned that car did not see us trying to break in…

This card is from My Time Made Easy’s “Beautiful Baubles.” “Happy Holidays” and I also used the digital paper from “Candy Claus.” I cut this gorgeous paper with Spellbinders Nestabilities and used red velvet ribbon on the top and the bottom to add texture…Then added some snowflakes and red rhinestones on the sentiment.

Hope you all like this creation of mine. Had fun making it. One of the best things about digi’s is that you can use them over and over again and you can make them ANY size! The papers at My Time Made Easy are just gorgeous, as you can see!

Join in on the challege peeps...such a fun way of using digi images and colors!

Gotta run…bedtime for me! Have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by!

Paper Makeup Stamps Size Matters

I am posting too early because I have family plans today and tomorrow. Today's Challenge is to the left "Size Matters!" Re-size your digi stamp. Well, I am still a novice at this, but I re-sized this "Twisty Tree" digi image so many times that I finally came up with a size that was usable...I will be glad when I have this technique down pat!

Don't ya just love the image though? I started to put a bunch of bats around it, but it was so lovely that I just left it alone!. I used Paper Trey Ink Green Tea Leaves Collection Papers for the

background...I just love these beautiful papers. I was going for an autumn theme with the colors here. I put SU's Certainly Celery behind the Spellbinder's Lacey Squares and used a corner punch.

The image was colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol and then I sponged the background with Memento's "Cantelope" and "New Sprout" inks.

I used Paper Trey Ink's "Spring Moss" ribbon at the bottom. and made a bow with a darling little owl sticker that I found in my stash from K & Company. I really think the owl added so much to this image...kinda Halloweeny and yet, definitely "Fall/Autumn." A plus that the little guy matched the papers.

Here is a close up of this little owl. I hope you will join in on this challenge with Paper Makup Stamps. Just remember that "Size Matters." The digital stamps over at Paper Makeup Stamps are just darling! Please check out the blog and see what is happening there. Just a "Lot of Fun!"

I wish you all a very happy week ahead! Thank you for stopping by!

Paper Makeup Stamps Word Art

Good Morning All! Our challenge for Paper Makeup Stamps today is to use Fabric on your project!

This is the first time I have used Word Art for an image and I really love how it turned out!

I used this verse because it means something to me. I have a beautiful home and remodeled it about 6 years ago. I remodeled every room in my house and even added a beautiful glassed in patio with colorful slate flooring. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed my home and this verse says it all.

To make this card, I used Paper Trey Ink's Autumn Abundance patterned paper. Isn't it beautiful? I used Spellbinders Labels

Two and sponged Momento Ink's Tangelo. Amazing what a little bit of sponging can change the whole look of a card. I also added PTI''s Orange Zest ribbon to the bottom. The Fabric quilted leaf I purchased at Hobby Lobby years ago and they came in this orange, green and brown. Just perfect for this challenge. The three glitter dots were also purchased from Hobby Lobby...I love them so much, but this year they are not in stock or I would have gotten more.

I hope you like my version of this challenge. I plan on using more Word Art from Paper Makeup Stamps in the future.

To join in on this challenge, here are:

The Rules- You must use a digital image onyour entry(hey, it is a digi challenge after all)
- The challenge will be every Monday
- A winner will be selected every week by random.org
- The winner will get to choose any 3 digi images from PMS as their prize. If the winner used a PMS image on their entry, they'll get 2 bonus images (for a total of 5!)
- You may enter as many times as you want, there is no limit; however, you may not link back to old posts (prior to the challenge post)
- You may combine our challenge with any other challenge you like
- Please post a link directly to your individual blog post using InLinkz (the blue frog) so we can find and admire your creation!

I have gotten to where I do not fight with blogger anymore. It puts my paragraphs where it wants and it takes too long to change it. Here is a close up of my fabric leaf. I am off to work. Have a wonderful week and stay safe. Thank you for your visit!
