Flourishes Lace Heart

Hi everybody! I wish I had taken this picture with a different colored background as the white makes this card seen so drab. At any rate this was a fun card to make and once again, if you click on it you can see the details much better. I used SU's Basic Gray as the base of this card and the patterned paper is from Michaels. I used two different ribbons, a white sheer and grey velvet on top. My favorite Lace Heart was embossed in silver with a pearl embellishment from The Paper Studio. I mounted this on Nestabilities Heart shaped die template. The Love sentiment is also from Flourishes Lace Heart set, which was also embossed in silver and an added touch is the Swarovski Crystal in the heart at the bottom.

Sorry this is short, but I have to get to work. Here's wishing you a wonderful day!

Big Purple Flower

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Work has been consuming me lately and I just haven't had time to post. Completely off the subject...Yesterday when I was coming home from work, I saw a little puppy that looked like a poodle/maltese mix walking around the neighborhood. She had no collar on and me being the dog lover that I am picked her up and started going around the neighborhood to see if anyone had lost this cute little pup. Most everyone was not at home so I took her to my house and Piper (my aussie) decided that she had become a new mom! They were so cute playing with each other. Shoulda taken some pictures. Finally I went to my neighbor across the street and she knew who the pup belonged to, so end of story, the owner was relieved. I am such a sucker when it comes to animals...and the apple does not fall far from the tree...my DD was out traveling on her job and she saw a little black puppy on the side of the interstate. She pulled off at the next exit and turned around, got out of the car and with her hamburger she tried to lure the puppy to her. (Now this is really a dangerous thing to do) A State Trooper stopped and asked what she was doing. Another long story short, they never could lure the dog to them and the State Trooper reprimanded my DD for trying such a dangerous ploy, as someone could have driven up behind her and well....who knows what could have happened. Thank you Lord for watching over my precious girl.
Okay...this card was made for my good friend Debbie as her birthday was this past week. She is a dear friend and was absolutely delighted when she opened the card as purple is her favorite color. If you click on the pic you can see the detail better. I am really trying to practice on my picture taking skills, but it seems it may take a long time, or a new camera to get it down pat. I wish you all a great day!!!

Valentine Treat Bags

Hi Guys! I went to work this morning and it was below freezing. I left early because a winter storm brought several inches of snow around Alabama today. The storm brought rain, sleet and snow...and it was just beautiful!! That's why I left work early, so I could come home and go out on my patio (it's glassed in) and swing on my wicker swing while listening to classical music and just watch the snow. I have a heater out there so it was nice and toasty. It was coming down in great big flakes and lots of it too. As you know, we do not get much snow here in Bama, so when we do, we mostly stay at home because we are not used to driving in these conditions. However, this afternoon I am going to (my niece's daughter) Elsa Grace's 4th Birthday Party. It wil be a Sleeping Beauty Themed Party and Sleeping Beauty herself will be there. I cannot wait to see the look on Elsa Grace's face when Sleeping Beauty appears.

These Valentine Treat Bags were a lot of fun to make. I just used themed paper that I got from Hobby Lobby, put the bags together and topped it with my heart's Cuttlebug topper. I embellished with Nestabilities Heart embossing sets, Festive Fur Yarn, and Swarovski Crystals.

It is going to be 19 degrees later today...and Lord only knows what tomorrow morning will bring. I know some of you are laughing at me because you are probably used to this kind of weather and worse...I like the weather where I live and I don't believe that I could live up north and deal with the cold...but I am sure there are plenty of you that love it. Hey, I love going to the mountains, does that count? Have a great weekend :)

Make A Wish

Happy Wednesday !! I don't have much time this morning, as I have to get to work, but I wanted to get one more post in. I made this card with the idea of simplicity. I used Gina K's "Make a Wish Stamps." The base is dark blue metallic cardstock and the second layer of paper is from SU's designer series Le Jardin. I used Versamark ink and White embossing glitter on both stamps. I cut the cardstock with Nestabilities square die templates and used Offray ribbon, and Jessie James (Dress It Up) silver buttons. Wishing you all a great day :)

Oh So Lovely

Happy Saturday to all!! Even though I worked at the office 8 hours today, I am home and in my comfy clothes...which makes me a happy stamper :) I have to share something well, not funny to me, but probably to the rest of dieters around our world. I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers (plug) and I just bought a new recipie book from Weight Watchers. I made one of their recipies, which calls for bell pepper, onions, eggs, hash browns, no fat feta cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper. I thought at first, "I can handle this." But after the 3rd serving I was like NO WAY! I am not one to throw away food and so I did eat the whole thing, but the 4th serving was with lots of salsa. So what is the purpose of me spending money on a cookbook and taking the time to chop everything up and then...it tastes like yuk? Heck, I coulda been stamping and making cards. I chalk this one up as a learning experience, and I will go back to the darn cookbook and try another recipie, just because I am trying to eat healthy. However, it will be a few before I try another one of these recipies. Right now, all I want is a baked potatoe rolled in EVOO and seasalt and smothered in REAL butter and sour cream...and I would not say no to some shredded cheese and bacon bits to top it off :)
K...sorry...You will have to click on the card to see the details. I did not put a sentiment, cause I want to save this one for a special occasion. This card was made with SU Oh So Lovely Stamp, SU Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper, Soft Sky Cardstock, Classic Black Stamp Pad Ink, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, Copic Atyou Glitter Pens, SU Soft Sky Ribbon, Dots by Dress It Up, and Pearls by Wilton. Have a Great Rest of the Weekend to you all :)

Lace Heart

Oh My !!! I am so excited to share this with you!!! I am so excited that I am almost combustible :) I have been given the honor to be in the "Customer Spotlight" at http://www.Flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com (one of these days I will figure out how to make this a shortcut) What a wonderful pedestal to put me on! The ladies at Flourishes, llc are so very kind and from the very beginning with my first purchase, I have been treated royally by each of them. The products that they promote are excellent and if you look at my blog you will see that most of my cards have been made with their stamps, ribbon, cardstock, and paper. The packaging is first class as is the shipping. I have had the opportunity to talk by phone to Jan Marie, Nancy and Sharon (the owners) and I can tell you that they are gracious beyond. I invite everyone who visits my blog to check out this fabulous stamping store at http://www.flourishes.org/ (Can anyone tell me how to short cut this stuff?)

The card above was made with Flourishes "Lace Heart." The base is SU's Basic Grey. I added Scarlett's Letter Paper that I received as a gift from Flourishes. I then added the ribbon that I bought at A.C. Moore. The heart was layered on Scarlett's Letter paper and paper from a paper bag that I bought at the Dollar Store. I used Versamark Ink and heat embossed the heart with red embossing glitter and added the Swarovski Crystals.

Once again ~ Flourishes ~ Thank you !!!

Flowerfly

Hello all! I've been trying to get back into the swing of things with going back to work and cleaning house. The holidays have a way of sending me into another world, like "I can be lazy and relax...I've worked all year long waiting for this." So when it gets to January 2, I realize that I have to get back to reality. That is why it has taken me so long to get back to the "here and now." The base of this card is slver metallic and I used some patterned paper that I bought from Michaels. I ran it through the Cuttlebug and then added some silver and white patterned paper also from Michaels. The Stamp is Stampendous "Flowerfly." It is an "oldie, but a goodie." I then added the ribbon, bow and rhinestones. Once again, if you click on it you can see the details more clearly. Okay guys, I am moving on into this wonderful new year. I hope the rest of you are doing well!
