Summer Card Camp 2011

Hi everyone! I hope you guys are looking forward to this weekend...the 4th of July!!! Yippeee...I am off of work on Monday...more time to play !!

I WON this AWESOME Summer Card Camp !! There were 3 of us that won out of hundreds!! I was so excited I just jumped up and down! So many card ideas, videos, and color combinations all wrapped up in this fabulous Summer Card Camp!!! I was going to join, but received an email that I had won a free spot...Aren't I the lucky one? Yeah!!

Anyhoo, on to my card...I have never tried this technique before, but I thought it was time. I just recieved this new stamp set from Paper Trey Ink...for FREE...called "Botanical Silhouettes." It is a Special Edition 4th Anniversary set. I was so excited when I got this in the mail...and my goodness it can be used for every imaginable kind of card. I used Versamark Ink and stamped the stems and flowers. Then I used white embossing powder, which I heat embossed. I then took these inks: PTI Rasberry Fizz, Momento Bahama Blue, Lulu Lavender, and Tangelo and began using a sponge dauber in each corner just going in round circles. Okay, I have to admit, I did have to try this technique a few times before I felt like it really looked good...but I do think it turned out great. I did take some text white metallic paper from Paper and More and I scored with my Scor-Pal above and under the sentiment (although you cannot see it in the picture) it does show up on the card IRL...I then placed rhinestones all over the flowers, the bow (which is also Rasberry Fizz from PTI) and below the sentiment, which also came with the "Botanical Silhouettes." I used dimensionals to pop the image up...and whalha!!

I have more coming, as this class lasts all month long...I have so enjoyed this weeks videos (they are some of the best videos I have ever seen)!! The card ideas are fabulous and oh on the color combos...THANKS to Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner and Friends!!!

Have a Very Happy 4th of July to all ! Be Safe and Thank You for Stopping By!!

Dogwood Branch

Hi all!!! Last weekend my sister and I went grocery shopping. We go together every weekend. We then went to the farmer's market where we purchased fresh seedless watermelon, cantelope, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and corn on the cob. Yummers!!! I took the tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions and chopped them up. I then put them in a Rubber Maid bowl and put Italian Dressing over it. It was so delish! After that we both went to see a movie. What a great weekend we both had! Good thing is, we never take it for granted and we know we are blessed to have each other!

Anyhoo, on to my card, which is as simple as simple can get. I used white metallic cardstock and text paper from Paper and More. I then used a Cuttlebug folder (sry I do not know the name of it) to emboss the background. Colored the Dogwood Branch from Serendipity Stamps with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I used a corner punch and dimensionals and that is it! I figure that I can use this simple card for many occasions, just to have on hand when I need it.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead and thank you for your visits and awesome comments!

A Bloom For You ~ Belles 'n Whistles

Hello All! I cannot believe it is already June! And it is HOT where I live...like all last week it was in th upper 90's. I am not good with heat peeps! When I get too hot, I am not a happy camper...so, I stay where there is air conditioning. Wonder how people lived before we had air conditioning...guess I am spoiled in that way. I pray for the people who have no choice but to work outside in this heat.

Anyhoo, on to my little creation here...I used Belles 'n Whistles "A Bloom For You" image and colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. This is probably my favorite coloring choice. I did sponge around her with SU's Bashful Blue. The DP came from Paper Trey Ink and it is called Hibiscus Burst 2009 Bitty Dot Basics. I added a buckle from Michael's around the Hibiscus Burst ribbon from PTI. The sentiment is from Justrite's Happy Birthday Kit and I cut it out with Petite Circles from Spellbinder's Nestabilities Labels 5. I used a Cuttlebug Border Folder on the top and bottom of the card and then added the rhinestones to the side.

The little box I made came from Creative Cuts and More. The color fit perfectly with the DP I used on the card. I also used CC&M's Tacky Red Tape to hold the box together. The tags were also cut from Nestabilities Labels 5 and I added the sentiments from Justrite's Happy Birthday Kit. The flowers came from my stash.

I hope you like my little creation, I already know the Birthday girl who will be receiving this. Her name is Denise and she has worked with me in my office for 25 years. She is a wonderful friend and coworker.

Okay, I am off to spend the rest of my day with my DD and her family! Thank you for your visit and I hope each of you have the very best upcoming week!!
