Valentine Treat Bags

Hi Guys! I went to work this morning and it was below freezing. I left early because a winter storm brought several inches of snow around Alabama today. The storm brought rain, sleet and snow...and it was just beautiful!! That's why I left work early, so I could come home and go out on my patio (it's glassed in) and swing on my wicker swing while listening to classical music and just watch the snow. I have a heater out there so it was nice and toasty. It was coming down in great big flakes and lots of it too. As you know, we do not get much snow here in Bama, so when we do, we mostly stay at home because we are not used to driving in these conditions. However, this afternoon I am going to (my niece's daughter) Elsa Grace's 4th Birthday Party. It wil be a Sleeping Beauty Themed Party and Sleeping Beauty herself will be there. I cannot wait to see the look on Elsa Grace's face when Sleeping Beauty appears.

These Valentine Treat Bags were a lot of fun to make. I just used themed paper that I got from Hobby Lobby, put the bags together and topped it with my heart's Cuttlebug topper. I embellished with Nestabilities Heart embossing sets, Festive Fur Yarn, and Swarovski Crystals.

It is going to be 19 degrees later today...and Lord only knows what tomorrow morning will bring. I know some of you are laughing at me because you are probably used to this kind of weather and worse...I like the weather where I live and I don't believe that I could live up north and deal with the cold...but I am sure there are plenty of you that love it. Hey, I love going to the mountains, does that count? Have a great weekend :)

Those are gorgeous Velta! I need to apologize for not coming to your blog to comment lately. My google reader isn't showing any of your updates since before Christmas. I'm so sorry! NOw I know to check your blog manually.

The treat bags look "good enough to eat!" So if the goodies inside are as yummy as the bags look, then the recipients are gonna feel very loved this Valentine's Day.

What a great treat Velta! I know what you mean about driving in the snow. I am a chicken. We do not get much snow here, thought this winter it has been more often than usual. We had snow on Saturday with big flakes. Beautiful. Now it's super cold but clear and you can see the mountains. Gorgeous!!!
Hope you have a great Sleeping Beauty party! Hugs to your niece!

These are just darling - love the metallic look paper too! I'll have to check my cuttlebug dies and see if I have that heart - what a perfect embellishment to use for these!! I am with you on the cold - here in Texas we haven't had any "winter" weather yet, but when we do, it is time to hunker down! It has been cold and raining, but no sleet or ice. I like it that way!!

Love these bags, especially the pink paisley one! You did an awesome job--these are no ordinary treat bags. And thanks for the poem--I had never heard that one before and it is beautiful.

Hi, Velta! It's the same here when it gets below freezing. Yesterday we had a little snow--very unusual and so pretty. Your bags are very beautiful and every bit as much fun to receive as the treats inside!
